# 4 × 6 inch label printer test PDF

https://printbench.smartfact.ai/4x6-label-printer-test/

Four by six inches is 101.6 × 152.4 mm. Start with the matching PDF, then check whether the viewer and driver preserve those dimensions on paper.

For teams using 4 × 6 inch label stock and checking page size, orientation, clipping or unexpected scaling.

## Similar stock sizes need different PDFs

A 100 × 150 mm page is not the same size as a 4 × 6 inch page. PrintBench includes both as separate fixtures. Selecting a nearby size or allowing fit-to-page can change the output even when the document looks correct on screen.

## How to use PrintBench

1. **Select 4 × 6 inches.** Choose the 4 × 6 profile in PrintBench and the appropriate 203 or 300 DPI fixture. Check the stock specification rather than relying on a queue's friendly name.
2. **Match the viewer and driver.** Set 4 × 6 inch paper dimensions, intended orientation and actual size or 100%. Print one copy and confirm the fixture identifier on the resulting label.
3. **Check both axes.** Measure the horizontal and vertical reference marks between tick centres. Record clipping or rotation separately. Then compare scanner input against the known Code 128 or QR value.

## A screen preview cannot confirm physical size

A PDF viewer can make different page sizes appear equally large on screen. The document's dimensions, the selected driver stock and the marks measured on paper provide different pieces of evidence. Record them together before changing another setting.

## Questions

### Can I use the 4 × 6 test on 100 × 150 mm stock?

Choose the dedicated 100 × 150 mm fixture instead. Using a different-size page introduces another variable and can lead to fitting, clipping or scaling.

### Does the 300 DPI choice change the page size?

No. Both fixtures retain the selected physical page dimensions. Resolution changes the source dot grid, including the realised lengths of reference marks.

### Does a successful scan mean the setup is correct?

It means the received text matched the expected payload for that observation. Page size, scaling, print appearance and barcode quality require their own checks.

## Current scope

Prepare fixed Code 128 and QR test PDFs for 100 × 150 mm or 4 × 6 inch stock, generated at 203 or 300 DPI. Print through your normal PDF viewer and driver, record observations and measurements, compare keyboard scans and download reviewed local reports.

This is a software-tested alpha; physical printer, driver and scanner combinations are not yet qualified. PrintBench does not connect directly to printers, inspect queues, calibrate hardware, grade barcodes, design custom labels or discover printer DPI. Its fixtures cannot check the size of FactoryCards' 100 × 50 mm cards.

## Privacy

Measurements, notes and scan values stay in browser memory. No account, uploads or tracking scripts are required. Test PDFs and preview assets load from this site. Downloaded reports are redacted by default; review before sharing. Reloading loses the session. Hosting may log ordinary requests.
